Resolution Ranch Academy, located on 500 serene acres near Austin, Texas, is more than a school—it’s a refuge where troubled boys ages 13–17 rediscover hope, purpose, and direction. Amidst tranquil landscapes, outdoor adventures like horseback riding, fishing, and hiking provide a powerful backdrop for introspection and healing. Nature becomes a powerful teacher, awakening boys to a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world.

Founded in 2004 by former NFL player Scott McGarrahan, Resolution Ranch was born out of a passion to give boys a second chance. What began as a personal mission has grown into one of the nation’s leading therapeutic boarding schools. With a low student-to-staff ratio and a team of 25 caring professionals, every boy receives 24/7 guidance and mentoring from therapists, equine specialists, academic instructors, and direct care workers.

Each student’s journey is rooted in the R.A.N.C.H. Process: Recovery and Academics through Nature, Counseling, and Healing. These five phases serve as a roadmap for lasting transformation—rebuilding emotional stability, academic confidence, and family trust.

Resolution Ranch is equipped to guide boys who are struggling with:

• Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
• ADD/ADHD
• Mild Autism Spectrum
• Depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem
• Substance abuse or online addictions

Character Development & Spiritual Renewal

Resolution Ranch is not just about fixing behaviors—it’s about igniting purpose. Our program promotes personal discipline, humility, gratitude, and spiritual reflection. Mentorship and responsibility are core to everyday life. Through Life Space Interviews conducted twice a week, each student is heard, supported, and guided in both personal and community challenges. These mentoring sessions foster emotional intelligence and moral courage.

Academic Restoration with Individual Support

Resolution Ranch is fully accredited through SACS and AdvancED. Students attend school at least 20 hours weekly with individualized support based on their needs. Our classes are small, ensuring that every young man has the opportunity to succeed without falling behind. All coursework is transferable to public, private, or boarding schools across the U.S., giving students a strong academic foundation for the future.

24/7 Therapeutic Care and Mentoring

With round-the-clock care, our staff becomes a consistent, stabilizing presence in every boy’s life. Licensed therapists, care staff, and mentors collaborate daily to ensure progress and accountability. Boys begin to feel seen, heard, and empowered to change.

A Nurturing Environment & Family Atmosphere

An enrollment of approximately 32 students with a full-time staff of 25 gives Resolution Ranch a family-style atmosphere. Your son benefits from seven of our staff members on his team—our licensed therapists, equine therapists, direct care workers, teachers, child care administrators, and counselors working together to provide 24/7 supervision and support. This consistent interaction encourages camaraderie and openness among students and staff, helping them achieve honest communication and meaningful progress.
