Students are able to balance classroom learning with maritime instruction, vocational training, community service, and other hands-on experiences.

Students also develop everyday adult skills such as managing money, preparing for job interviews, learning to drive, caring for themselves and others, working cooperatively, and completing responsibilities without constant supervision.
